Financial Risk Management - Regulatory Trainee

As an trainee, you’ll support exciting and real business projects, and gain insight into risk management topics.

What will you do in this role?

  • Participate in various risk, regulatory, internal audit and governance projects for financial sector clients, cooperating, besides business functions, with Compliance, Risk Management, IT Risk Management, IT Project Management, Finance, Controlling, Back and Middle Office, Internal Audit or Treasury.
  • Preparing input to proposals, reports and presentations on services delivered to clients.
  • Collecting and structuring information, critically analyse results of research.
  • Supporting business development initiatives, such as articles, presentations, or other studies.
  • Joining and contributing to an open-minded group of people interest within risk management and regulatory compliance.

We are looking for you if you have:

  • Ongoing BSc or MSc studies in the fields of economics, finance or law,
  • The availability to work at least 20 hours a week,
  • A keen interest of basic banking operations/investments/fintechs, main financial products, banking and fintech services (lending, investment or payment services, crypto),
  • Some understanding or particular interest of relevant financial regulatory-related frameworks and regulations, such as:

o Combatting anti-money laundering (AML), financial fraud;
o Market integrity-related regulations (MAD/MAR)
o Banking operations (licensing requirements and procedures under e.g. PSD2 and Hpt., MiFID and Bszt., MiCA & Crypto act);
o Investor protection (MiFID II, MiFIR);
o Fintech regulatory, digital resilience (DORA), AI Act, MiCA;
o Business continuity management of financial institutions (recovery and resolution planning).

  • Interest in deep diving in relevant legislation and documentation of financial entities,
  • Logical and structured thinking, a good command of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel,
  • Ability to work with people of different backgrounds and business cultures, a team-oriented and collaborative attitude,
  • Carrying out detailed research tasks independently,
  • Interpersonal skills, proactive attitude, and interest to be exposed to many different disciplines, subjects, and tasks,
  • Confident oral and written communication skills in Hungarian and English.
